When I started in this business more than 35 years ago, my goal was pretty straightforward: give people sound, conservative advice they could actually use. Help them make smart decisions about their money without overcomplicating things or chasing the latest trend. That's still what I do today.
I work with individuals and families on personal financial planning—everything from investment strategy to retirement planning to making sure all the pieces of their financial life fit together. I earned my CFP® designation back in 1988 because I wanted to deepen my expertise and be able to handle the increasingly complicated questions people were bringing to me. The world of personal finance has only gotten more complex since then, but the fundamentals haven't changed: understand what someone is trying to accomplish, build a plan that makes sense for them, and stay involved as things evolve.
I've lived in Colorado since I was in seventh grade, and Fort Collins has been home since 1980. My wife Madelaine and I raised our family here, and I've stayed active in the community over the years—founding the northern Colorado chapter of Pheasants Forever, serving on the board of the Larimer Choral Society, and coaching youth baseball and soccer. When I'm not working, you'll find me fly fishing, skiing, cycling, or out in the garage restoring classic sports cars or working on a woodworking project.
I earned my degree in business and economics from Western State College and offer securities and advisory services through Geneos Wealth Management, Inc., a member of FINRA/SIPC.
